welcome to Durban NorthCommunity Church
who we areDNCC
Durban North Community Church (formerly Durban North Baptist Church) was planted more than 70 years ago with the goal of reaching the Durban North area with the Gospel and to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Over the decades, the fashions, faces and facilities have changed, but the mission remains the same. We still long to reach the people of our community with the Good News that there is hope and salvation in Jesus’ Name. As we live out this great commission, we are also growing in the great commandment of Jesus – to love one another as He has loved us.
Our Sunday gatherings reflect the varied demographics of our neighborhood, and we enjoy authentic times of worship, Christ-focused Bible preaching and unhurried fellowship over good coffee. There are multiple events and connection points that happen throughout the week for the young, the older, and everyone in between!

Children’s Ministry
DNCC’s Children’s Ministry is all about laying a solid Biblical foundation in the lives of our kids and gently guiding them into a relationship with Jesus Christ. We firmly believe that we are called to train up children in the way they should go and when they are older, they won’t stray from it (Proverbs 22:6). We strive to create a safe, child-friendly environment for kids from Gr.000 to Gr.6.

Youth Ministry
Here at DNCC we run a Youth Ministry called YOUNG HOPE. This ministry seeks to focus on five key areas with teenagers between grades 7 through to matric. The five focus areas are Salvation, Discipleship, Character, Worship and Service. We believe that youth ministry is deeply relational and so we create space and opportunity to build relationally into the lives of our teens.
Life Groups
Our model is the picture of the early church in: Acts 2:41-47 (NIV) ”Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. The Fellowship of the Believers. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Missions
At DNCC we believe the responsibility for taking the Good News of Jesus Christ into our homes, schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, and ultimately to the ends of the earth belongs to every believer (Acts 1:8). As a church we partner with various ministries around our community, throughout South Africa and also across international boundaries.
