Hi, I’m Jason Freitas, currently the Student Pastor here at Durban North Community Church. I have been working at DNCC since March of 2022, but I have been a part of this church since I was a kid, with a 4-year gap somewhere in the middle, which was where I met my wife. We currently have one child, with another one on the way. One way to describe me would be a ‘mixed basket’. I am a plumber by trade, with a Construction Management diploma behind me, having worked in the construction industry for over 14 years. I would say I have a practical mind. A few years ago, I felt God leading me to study Theology, which I am currently doing through BTC. I love all things sport; I’m always up for a competition and I enjoy a good laugh. One word to describe me would probably be ‘chilled’ yet very passionate when it comes to Gods Word. I’m always excited to see what he is doing in our lives and the lives of His people.
the ministry’sMISSION
We believe that youth ministry is deeply relational and so we create space and opportunity to build relationally into the lives of our teens – not only with the leadership team, but also amongst their peers, in the hopes that through our commitment to the Word of God we will see the next generation grow into mature believers in Christ.
Our Youth ministry program runs on Friday nights within the school terms between 19:00 and 21:00. Our Sunday morning Teen Church program coincides with our regular Church service times.
